Sprinkled with Love

These two beautiful ladies are expecting their little blessings in August! Jenn Amann and I teamed up to throw them a Baby Sprinkle.
We chose Lucile's as the location and split up tasks. Planning went very smoothly and the sprinkle was so much fun.

Lucile's has a wonderful area for large parties.

Homemade strawberry shortcake cupcakes.

A wishing tree for each Mommy to-be.

Late night diapers.

SPRINKLED WITH LOVE!

Delicious beignets and amazing benedicts!

The Nursery Rhyme game. Lindsay's Aunt Connie, Sarah, and Maggie were winners!

It was a hard game.

Lindsay and her Mom (Grandma to be...again).

Julie, Maggie, and Lindsay VanDusseldorp

Hostesses.

Jenn, Lindsay, Julie, and myself.

Jude joined us in the end for a cupcake!

Jenn brought guest favors for celebration once the babies arrive.

I am already so blessed to be an Aunt to two wonderful nephews and so very eager to meet both of my new nephews. I think that these two babies will be a blessing, not only in Dan and Julie's, and Jeremy and Lindsay's lives, but in the lives of many others, including mine and Nathan's. Jude and Caleb are going to be amazing big brothers and Elizabeth and Abigail are looking forward to having more cousins to play with and watch over.

Elizabeth is going to be a very busy baby sitter in a handful of years!

More Summertime Fun

I hate to condense our summertime fun into one blog post, but I have so many photos that I want to share, and very little time to catch up on my blog. Each activity, has been equally as fun and I have really enjoyed my free time with the girls so far this summer!

SWIMMING

We are so excited to be living in our new neighborhood, only blocks away from Kings Point Pool. It's so nice to have the option to cool off as needed or to spend dinnertime at the pool enjoying the company of the other members. Nate and Dan have enjoyed numerous Sunday evenings playing sand volleyball while the girls swim and I...well, I like to just kick-back.

Menchie's at the pool!

Elizabeth has made strides in her swimming skills this summer. Her goal is to swim well enough to jump off of the diving board by the end of the summer. Hopefully we can have one of the lifeguards give her a couple of swimming lessons in the next few weeks.

There are only a handful of weeks until the pool closes over Labor Day weekend. I know that we will enjoy the pool to its fullest until then.

PAINTING

Once in a while, we take a break from painting walls and paint canvasses instead!

 Abigail's art is typically abstract...
...while Elizabeth's is more thoughtful.

Another example of how our girls are so very different from one another.

CENTENNIAL PARK

On one very hot, summer day, we decided to venture out to Centennial Park to try something new. Nate's company did the electrical at the park and Nate is currently running another job at the same site. Therefor, we packed lunch to bring to Dad and played at the water park while we were there.

I had heard about Centennial Park but could never have expected what we found there! People, TONS AND TONS OF PEOPLE. We had fun, but it was overwhelming at times.

This monkey-like jungle gym was Elizabeth's heaven on Earth! She could have spent the entire day playing here if I would have allowed it.

The playgrounds were lots of fun for Abigail too.

Tightropes.

Climbing walls.

And endless water fun!

We took a break at sat down to eat our sandwiches with Nate. When a family decided to put up a VERY LARGE tent/umbrella thing right in between us and the water-fun, I decided it was time to go. It was a fun experience, but it's not likely that we will be reenacting our adventures until the kids are a little bigger.

GOLF

Sadly, we haven't had a lot of time this summer to golf as much as we would have liked to. Nate and I enjoy bringing the kids out to the Par 3 but have only had the opportunity to do so once so far this summer.

They enjoyed it and we hope to his the links again very soon.

However, we did get the opportunity to hit the put-put course. I asked Elizabeth is she would like to go and play put-put golf and she asked, "What is put-put golf." That answered my question and we packed up and went over to Colorado Journey. Nate isn't a huge fan of put-put so this was a good opportunity for me to take the girls.

Elizabeth was already skilled with a putter, so she hit the course running.
Abigail needed a little lesson! I just wanted her to have fun, rather than getting frustrated, so we allowed her to utilize her shovel-like golf stance and play the course in as many strokes as she needed. She had fun with her purple ball and pink putter.

Colorado Journey has holes that resemble certain places throughout Colorado. Dinosaur ridge was our favorite with the replicated fossils.

Ah...shade! It was HOT! 95 degrees hot. So, we rushed through the 18 holes in order to get a drink of water.

We found more shade at the Eisenhower tunnel hole.

Looking back through photos, we really have had a wonderful summer so far. Our Summertime Fun agenda still holds adventures to Pirates Cove, the mountains and the zoo before school starts at the end of August.

Angles in the Infield

This summer, I dropped the ball on summer soccer enrollment, so Elizabeth went along with the idea of Modified Tball. Having never played baseball (other than with plastic bats and balls in the backyard), we spent a couple of weeks breaking in a new glove and bat.
Practices were scheduled for Tuesdays and games for Thursdays. Unfortunately, it wasn't until the third Thursday that Elizabeth's team, The Angles, were able to participate in an official game. Despite the "organized chaos", the kids had a great time.
Each of the kids were given a handful of pitches with the opportunity to hit off of the tee as well. Elizabeth never needed a tee!

After-game snacks.

We took some of our own shots during the team's photo session. I am sure the photos I paid for will turn out better...

...except for this one! It's priceless.

We had to miss a week of practice/games because of our move, followed by a bi-week because of the 4th of July weekend. Therefor, we decided that we wouldn't finish off the season. I think that Elizabeth prefers spending her Tuesday and Thursday afternoons practicing her swimming skills at the pool anyways.

T-ball was fun, but I think that we will stick with soccer (more action to keep the kids occupied)! We look forward to the fall.
