Mother Daughter(s) Day

Since Elizabeth is on spring break, we thought it would be fun to have a girls day out. We started the day at Color Me Mine! The girls each wanted to paint their own cereal bowls.

Elizabeth painted flowers, grass, and the sun on her bowl.
And Abby just painted. She was very sad to have to leave her bowl for an entire week.

After we painted bowls, we stopped in at Noodles and Company for some Mac and Cheese.

Lastly, we walked over to the fountain at Southglenn and the girls ran around in circles.

I love being able to spend special time with my girls!

Spring Time BBQ

March has been so mild in Denver this year. With the first day of spring last week, we thought that it would be a great idea to have a BBQ and enjoy the beautiful 75 degree weather. So, last minute we invited friends over for some fun!

Any time that we all get together, there are at least 10 kiddos. With three pregnant friends, those numbers are going to continue to grow!! Soon enough, BBQs will need to be hosted in the park!

From left to right: Cora (far left), Tyler, Landon, Brady, Elizabeth, Caleb, Miles, Abigail, Jude, and Payton. Some how, we got them all together for a photo!

Jude!

The kids ran circles in the yard while the adults caught up (the Denver Broncos and Payton Manning were often the topic of conversation). The food was wonderful; thanks to all that brought a dish. And once again, Nathan and I remain beer pong champions!

Nate and I were questioning why everybody was gone by 9 p.m. and then we realized that everybody has kids and when the kids are ready to go, the adults have to be ready to go.

Brady, Miles, Payton, Elizabeth, Abigail, and Cora watching Star Wars and enjoying some juice! My kids slept really well!

So much fun!

St. Patty's Day Shindig!

This year for St. Patrick's Day, Jude (and Jer and Lindsay) hosted a shindig. There was no shortage of potatoes, the color green, or Guinness! Jer and Lindsay had fun, green party favors for the kids. Elizabeth and Miles took turn throwing a styrofoam airplane off of the balcony while Abigail and Cora played with pom poms!
Jude has gotten so stinkin' big!

Miles in his green shades!

Thanks for hosting VanDusseldorps and thanks to everybody that made such wonderful food! We were all Irish this weekend!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Kids at Play

We have been eating up this amazing weather! The girls and I love our Tuesdays off together. We have been to the park quite a few times. Last week, we decided to pack a lunch and go down to Belleview (Airplane) park! We set up our picnic near the playground and ate our PB and Js (yes, me too) and Oreo cookies. The girls played on the slides, monkey bars, and wobbly air planes for a while. Abigail finally got over her fear of the wobbly bridge and Elizabeth made a few new friends.

Abigail takes a rest in the shade on a bench.

Elizabeth at lunch time!

What a great time.

Other outdoor activities have included walks, roasting marshmallows around the fire pit, BBQing and eating on the front porch, and bubble fun!

When Abby isn't whipping the bubble wand and all of the liquid back and forth, she's working very hard at blowing bubbles with her mouth! We were such a mess after bubble time!

Elizabeth has it easy with the battery powered bubble shark!

Kids just adore bubbles!

Happy Spring!

Girls at Play

Over the past few days, we have been able to get the girls out for some fun in the sun. We went to the playground yesterday and today. This afternoon, we went to the tennis courts to play tennis and baseball!

Abigail will go up and down the slide all day long. It's her favorite thing to do on the playground!

Elizabeth got a razor scooter for Christmas from Grandpa and was able to test it out for the first time yesterday. I would feel a lot more comfortable if it had training wheels. I didn't think about the fact that you can tip on a scooter as well!

Yep, I dressed the girls up in matching Smurfette shirts and jean skirts the other day! Don't judge me!

Now that Abigail can talk, run, and play closer to Elizabeth's level, the girls have a lot of fun playing together. Despite their sometimes clashing personalities, Elizabeth and Abigail are best friends!

We have enjoyed the sun so much in the past couple of days. We can't wait for spring, and lots of sunshine to arrive!
