Ladies' Night-Sippin' Sisters Fancy Dinner Party

It had been since December (or sooner) that we had a full-on ladies' night. Even this time we had to reschedule twice because of family emergencies and sort-of-bad weather!

The day FINALLY came.

Cara, Abby, Gwen, Jenn, Jane, Dana, Wintre, Julie, Lindsay, and myself all gathered around the table for much needed laughter and relaxation.

Cara "manned" the grill and did a marvelous job grilling up our main entree!
She also put together a beautifully (ironed) dinner table for us.
We all brought a dish to share.
Julie did a great job "manning" the fondu as well.
Is there a group of women that doesn't adore cheese? I doubt it!
And after stuffing ourselves full of a wonderfully homemade meal, we treated ourselves to desert and wine!
The intention was to break-out our comfy clothes and watch Magic Mike. However, we had so much fun talking and laughing that we never got around the movie.
That didn't stop me from getting out of my heals...

...to break out the ridiculous argyle knee-highs.

Cara and Abby put together such wonderful gifts for all of the guests. We had so much fun and I pray that there isn't so much time between now and the next girls night. I am very blessed and so grateful to be a part of such a wonderful, strong, loving, and caring group of women. We have made many great "Sippin' Sisters" memories and I can't wait to see what the rest of the year brings us!

Thanks for hosting Cara!

Milestones: Riding Bikes

Elizabeth got a bicycle for her Birthday in early December and Santa brought her some training wheels at Christmas. Because of the cold weather, we were unable to test out her bicycling skills!

We set out recently to give it a whirl.

Nathan put the training wheels on her new Huffy and we set out to the school yard up the block.
Abigail came along, but between the cowgirl boots (and her lack of interest) I pushed her bike most of the way.
Elizabeth was a bit shaky but she eventually took off on her own.

What a big girl!!! Hopefully she will be riding without training wheels by the end of the summer.

Summer Pool Preparations!

With pool season right around the corner, we needed to get the girls swimming better so that Mommy and Daddy can enjoy our pool-side summer a bit more!
We enrolled both of the girls in back-to-back lessons at Buck Rec Center.

I think that Abigail is going to be a really strong swimmer. She's not afraid of the water, IN THE LEAST BIT, so she is more willing to put her head under water.
Elizabeth is much more careful in everything that she does. Even still, she's learning how to swim in the deep end and can do so with a little help. By the end of the summer, she'll be jumping off of the diving board with her Dad and her Uncles!

It's going to be a great summer!

Snow Days

There hasn't been a whole lot of snow this winter, but we have made do with that we have had. Here are some fun shots!
Elizabeth could spend the entire day outside in the snow.
Abby gets her "fill" sooner than Elizabeth does!
Nate joined the girls a few times, helping them to build snowmen and women....

 ...and to create snow angles!

And now we are ready for sunshine and spring!
