Spring Time Fun

I just thought I would share some of those beautiful smiles as we approach the end of the school year. I am always amazed at how quickly the girls grow and it's nice to take a moment to review the last few months through pictures!

We built a lovely fort and the girls had a "sleepover" together in Elizabeth's room.

Abigail playing her guitar, singing the Frozen song, again...and again...and again! Thankfully she's cute.

We recently had a spring day that was warm enough for some fun in the sprinkler!

Getting Abby to hold still is difficult, but I'm able to capture those sweet and still moments once in a while.

Roasting marshmallows with friends!

Smores with friends!
Bring on the summer and more of those beautiful smiles!

My Little Lollipop

Although Abby was reluctant, we signed her up for the Littleton Soccer Lollipops. As most of you know, Abby is more of the tiara-wearing type opposed to shin guards and cleats. But, in the week leading up to the skills camp, we bribed Abby with a new pink and purple soccer ball and pink shin guards! She was ready to go and very excited on her first day.

And she actually learned to play soccer! Here she is practicing toe touches.

So proud of herself :)

I knew she'd be good at soccer and we now have an outlet for all of that energy she has! We are proud of you Abby, for stepping out of your comfort zone and trying something new.

The Joys of Friendship

During one of Elizabeth's soccer practices, we invited Cora to come to the park with us.
These two girls are the best of friends. Perhaps it's the fact that their fathers are childhood friends or the fact that they were born only days apart...when they get together, their smiles and innocence bring joy to my heart!

I hope that they will forever remain the closest of friends!

Jenn Says Goodbye to Her Roaring 20's

For Jenn's 30th Birthday Party Mark arranged a "surprise" party at The Black Crown.
The theme? The Roaring 20's.
.

Most of us dressed up, even if just a little bit.

Chris went all out!

The lady of honor with martini in hand!

HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY MY FRIEND!
And thank you for a lovely evening and a reason to wear a boa!

"She Blinded Me with Science"

Elizabeth has always been fond of science. She enjoys getting her hands dirty and learning all about how the world turns. This year, for Peabody's science fair, she roped in her Dad! On paper, the idea of demonstrating energy efficiency through light bulbs looked simple on paper...
Elizabeth had to sit back to watch Dad cut the wood for her special box of electricity!

Elizabeth helped Nate install single gang boxes and fixtures!

The final product!
Just so you know...you should replace all of your incandescent bulbs in your home with CFL, or better yet, LED bulbs. You will save yourself a great deal of money, both on your energy bill and on replacing bulbs year after year.

Elizabeth practiced her speech very hard. It went a little something like this:
"The first bulb is an incandescent bulb and it uses 60 watts of energy and lasts 0.9 years. (Then she would switch it on!) Next is the CFL bulb and it uses 13.9 watts of energy and and lasts 13 years. (Turn on the second bulb.) The last bulb is an LED bulb and it uses 9 watts of energy and lasts 22.8 years. (Last bulb on!)"

The kids presented during the day to the entire school and again in the evening to the community. Elizabeth said that there were so many kids at her project that her incandescent bulb burned out!
Good job Elizabeth. We are so proud of you for being so brave and putting yourself out there to share your ideas with the whole school.

Next stop, NASA!

If Only Easter Eggs Were Filled with Gold!

I would say that perhaps we experience Easter Egg hunt overload this year! We started on Saturday with our neighborhood egg hunt. The weather wasn't exactly warm, but lots of kids still came and we all had a great time. I think that this will be the first of many neighborhood gatherings.

Then, we had soccer...and our next hunt was at Kings Point Pool. It began to rain just in time! But, the kids powered through the hunt and had another fun time.

A little rain never hurt anybody!

And then we got a visit from the Easter bunny and he hid eggs outside this year (which means he was outside hopping around at 5 a.m.)!

After our morning hunt we got ready for church.

After church we went to Grandma and Grandpa's for lunch and our fourth egg hunt.

Nate and Uncle Steve built a tee-pee!

Elizabeth ate her pie in the tee-pee!

And then we were off to Great-Grandma's house.

I think that the kids could have hunted for eggs all day long!

We had a lovely Easter this year. I had more hard boiled eggs than I knew what to do with, if only they were filled with gold!
