Field Trip: Light Rail Trip Downtown

Summer classes started this week so I needed to go downtown to Auraria Campus to purchase my textbooks. The girls and I decided that it would be a lot of fun to catch the lightrail (a.k.a. the "choo-choo train") and ride it downtown.  

So we packed up our water bottles, a few snacks and the camera and went on a field trip!

Elizabeth was in awe every time that we went over a bridge!

Abigail giggled for the first five minutes. She thought that the movement of the train was so silly.

I told the girls that if they behaved on campus and in the bookstore I would buy them lunch.

We hit Subway in the Tivoli Student Union food court and had some turkey subs!



We stopped on the way back to the train for a photo in front of the tall buildings.

The girls were so well behaved and we had such a great time on our field trip downtown! I get so much joy out of watching life through the eyes of my children. Elizabeth and Abigail are such blessings and they make daunting tasks entertaining and enjoyable!

I thank God for the opportunity to share in such happiness!

The VanDusseldorp brothers are grilling up some lunch at the Kings Point club house.

Last summer Dan and Julie were nice enough to let us join them at their community pool, Kings Point and we had such a great time! This year we decided that we would get our own membership to the pool.

The pool has only been open for about three weeks and we have already had so much fun!

During adult swim, the kids enjoy playing in the sandbox.

There is a great kiddie pool for all of the kids to play in.

Abby started off wearing her life jacket but has gotten much more comfortable in the water. She is learning to put her face in the water and kick.

Caleb is like his Dad, taking care of the pool by cleaning out the drains! Although, I think that he's just being mischievous.

Nate and I have enjoyed the sun and pool time as well.

 In addition to our pool membership, Jenn invited us to her Grandma's pool for some fun in the sun!

 And then back to Kings Point pool! Unfortunately there was lightning most of the afternoon and we had to stay out of the water. We picked up some food and grilled some lunch at the club house instead.

We have had so much water fun already this summer! We look forward of some great weather and great fun at the pool this year!

We can always count on Wes to entertain the kids for a while!

Over Memorial Day weekend, we had a small get together with some close friends. Getting all of the kids together is always such a great time!!!

We are so blessed to have such a great group of friends and that our girls get to grow up with such a great group of friends as well!
