Elizabeth Kay Graduates

With only one day of school left, the pre-K teachers at VanDellen put together a short preschool graduation ceremony for parents! There are roughly ten kids in Elizabeth's pre-K class and they all stood along the front of the classroom and sang praise, teddy bear, and ocean songs!
Elizabeth has been supported by family year round! Ya-Ya, Grandpa Bruce, Grandma Maggie, Cousin Caleb, Abigail and Mom and Dad all attended her graduation. I think that Elizabeth had the largest crowd there!

Elizabeth is singing songs with her two best friends in school (Klara in white and Audrey in stripes).
The kids were all lined up with their graduation hats and were individually called to accept their diplomas. Mrs. Maggie said that Elizabeth is very artful and that she is never afraid to get dirty, especially when it comes to worms.

We were so blessed to have such caring pre-school teachers for Elizabeth. Mrs. Maggie, Mrs. Herrema, and Mrs. Tracey were all amazing with Elizabeth and we are incredibly grateful to have had them working with Elizabeth for the past two years. Although we are leaving Denver Christian next school year, we are very happy with our decision to send Elizabeth to VanDellen.
We will look forward to Kindergarten, Peabody, and many  new friends and memories beginning in August.

Congratulations Elizabeth. You did it!

Bowl Baby Bowl

Nate and the girls and I have been doing a good deal of bowling at Moe's these days. Three times in three weeks! Elizabeth began bowling with the ramp and bumpers and then quickly moved on to hucking the ball down the lane!
We have chased a few backwards rolling balls and retrieved balls that stopped rolling halfway down the lane!

Regardless, we have had a great time.

Yesterday, cousin Caleb joined in on the fun, bowling for the first time. His Mom and Dad were very proud!

We look forward to more bowling in the near future.

Easter Week

We kicked off Holy week by attending Christ Community's annual Living Lords Super where Jesus and the 12 Apostals bring Davinci's Last Super painting to life. Grandpa and Uncle Dan were both actors in the program. Abigail was very confused when she saw Grandpa dressed as Jesus.

The live painting looks very realistic in person!
We died Easter eggs (and the dining room table)!

Easter day braught three Easter egg hunts, two ham dinners, and two very tired, sugared-out girls! We started the day with an Easter egg hunt in our living room. Elizabeth was very eager to find the eggs while Abigail was more interested in how many pieces of chocolate were in her Easter basket! The Easter bunny left them both a set of plastic golf clubs!

Next, we went to the Easter morning service at CCC. We then had lunch at Bruce and Maggie's where Bruce hid the eggs a few times for all of the kids to find in the backyard. The girls had a lot of fun finding the eggs, Caleb quickly lost interest, and the plastic eggs felt really nice on Jude's gums! We had a wonderful meal (as always) that Maggie prepared.
Even Jude joined in on the egg hunt.

Stuffed and tired, we went to our next Easter celebration at Great-Grandma's house. The weather was perfect this year and the whole family got to hunt for their Easter eggs outdoors. Ya Ya spoiled the girls with Easter baskets full of chocolate, bunny ears and Strawberry Shortcake dolls. Great-Grandma prepared a ham and some other wonderful dishes (the deviled eggs are my favorite part of the meal)!

Caleb enjoyed hunting for eggs, but quickly lost
interest, wanting to play in the sand box!
5:00 rolled around and the girls (and Nate and myself) were tuckered out!
We finished Easter Sunday by watching Bubba Watson win the 2012 Master's Tournament! It was a really nice day!
