Looking back on our summertime fun, I hadn't realized how much time we spend in water! I think that it's accurate to say that we are in the water at least two days out of the week, sometimes more! Here is another compilation of our summertime water fun.
Last week, I took the girls to the Alexan fountain in Englewood. We met my friend Adrienne and her step-son Sebastian for a picnic and water play.
I am amazed at how much joy the kids get out of something as silly as water shooting up out of the ground. They would have played for hours if we had let them!
Not sure if we were supposed to be climbing on the public art, but the kids just had to!!!
Sebastian is such a character! He and Adrienne have been such a fun addition to our summer.
Elizabeth and Sebastian ran around and around and around ninja kicking the water as it came up!
Then we made wishes in the fountain. Cheap fun!
And of course, that has been tons and tons of Kings Point Pool fun throughout the summer. Every Sunday we take our dinner down to the pool. We swim for a short while and then the adults partake in some sand volleyball. I have seen great improvements in our play and we have so much fun while all of the kids run around the pool property entertaining one another!
Elizabeth works very hard to learn how to be a better swimmer. Abby is no afraid of the water, but can only touch in the shallow corners of the pool. I think that this floatie-turtle has become her best friend this summer!
The girls JUST HAD TO have a day at Pirates Cove as well. We scheduled a day to go and Elizabeth asked all week long if she would be tall enough for the big slides....
...turns out she was just barely tall enough.
Abby and I had to wait at the bottom of the slides for Elizabeth, so she only got to go twice...actually, only once because for some reason they told her she wasn't big enough the second time around. I'm not going to lie, I was OK with that.
We took a break from our swimming fun and ate some pizza. Then we went over the lazy river, which we got stuck in because the exit is so small! Once we made our way out, Elizabeth spent more time swimming while Abby and I sunbathed!
We hope to have a few more weeks of sunshine and fun so that we can continue on with our Kings Point water adventures. The pool closes over Labor Day weekend so we need to get as much enjoyment out of our membership between now and then!
