Of course, this Labor Day (and seemingly every other Federal holiday) I had to work at the restaurant. So, the kids and Nate went about their normal day and waiting for me to get home to pack up and go to Broken Tee to hit the Par 3. Initially, I was reluctant. I hate to be "those people" on the golf course that are slowing things down, not to mention that we have bright pink children running freely! However, once we got to the course, I started to get excited. The Par 3 wasn't busy and we were able to golf the entire 9 holes without anybody behind us!
Above all else, the girls were very excited to ride in the golf carts. We rented two carts and they took turns sitting with each of us.
Nate actually worked on his golf game! He was even able to practice some difficult shots and replay holes at his leisure! I, on the other hand, wasn't playing so well, so I opted to keep my eye on the girl for the second half of the course.
We really had a great time!
Nate and his two favorite girls at his favorite place on earth!
Elizabeth is actually a decent golfer for a five year-old. She has a nice set of clubs that she practices with! Here she is practicing her putting!
This is how Abigail putts...full swinging action!
So Nate spent a little time trying to teach her how to hold and swing the club.
But her attention span is minimal! She didn't want to learn anymore and wanted to be a golf bag instead!
Elizabeth came in handy when it came time to remove the pin.
At the sixth hole.
It really was a beautiful day! Not too hot, not too cool, a slight breeze, and a nice view of the Rocky Mountains.
As we approached the eight hole, the girls were done golfing and directed their attention at the many hills to run up....
...and role down!
Nate and I really enjoy golfing together and we are excited that the girls are at the age where we can bring them to the course and teach them about the game while spending some quality family time together.
Happy Labor Day 2012.
